CGD (short for Caixa Geral de Depositos) is the second largest bank in Portugal and remains, until this day, owned by the government.
It was founded in 1876 in Lisbon and it currently has 8,410 employees under its charge. It has branches in Funchal, Valadares, Celeiros, Lisbon and Porto.
